Today Stu Durval, an artist and story teller, came to Ashhurst school. He showed us some of his secrets for drawing cool cartoons by using numbers and letters. He told us story about a beach, a pirate, pudding, a Kauri tree, and love. He drew an awesome picture to set the scene for his story. He was able to put images in our minds as he was telling the story. He used lots of expression, movement, and different types of audience to get us interested in the story and excited about the ending. He enjoyed it so much, we came back to class and drew our own pirate scenes, and tomorrow we are going to write our own stories to go with our drawings.
